October is LGBTQ+ History Month, which is the perfect time to reflect on the pivotal role of the Stonewall Riots in shaping the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Our Stonewall Inn exhibit commemorates this historic event, highlighting the courage and resilience of those who dared to challenge societal norms.

Though it was not the first, the Stonewall Riots set the global movement for LGBTQ+ rights ablaze. The uprising at the Stonewall Inn in 1969 marked a turning point, inspiring countless individuals to come out of the shadows and demand equality. The riots demonstrated the power of visibility and the importance of standing up against oppression.

Particularly relevant for National Coming Out Day and Spirit Day, this exhibit encourages individuals to embrace their identities and stand in solidarity with one another.
